Privacy and terms

Your code, prompts and conversations stay on your Mac. Vector sends anonymous usage events so we can see what's working, and you can turn that off. The beta is free and provided as is.
Privacy
Your work stays on your Mac
Workspaces, conversations and files are stored on your computer. Vector doesn't have servers that receive them.
Agents connect to their providers directly
Vector runs the Claude and Codex tools you install, signed in with your own accounts. What those agents send to Anthropic and OpenAI is covered by your agreements with them and by their privacy policies, not this one.
Anonymous usage analytics in the app
Vector sends anonymous events through Aptabase, such as the app opening or an agent starting and which provider it uses. Events include the app version, macOS version and your approximate location at the country level.
Vector never sends your code, prompts, agent output, file names, paths or workspace titles. Events aren't linked to an account or to an identifier that follows you over time.
Analytics are on by default. You can turn them off at any time in Vector's settings.
Update checks
Vector checks GitHub for new versions. Like any download, that request shares your IP address with GitHub, under GitHub's privacy statement.
This website
getvector.sh counts visits with Umami. It doesn't use cookies or track you across other sites. It records pages viewed, the referring site, browser, operating system, device type and country. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which keeps its own server logs.
What we do with it
We use analytics only to understand how Vector and this site are used, so we can improve them. We don't sell analytics data or share it for advertising.
Terms
Free while in beta
Vector is free during the beta. Paid plans may come later. They won't apply to you unless you choose them.
Using Vector
You may download and use Vector for your own work, personal or commercial. Please don't redistribute or resell it.
You're in charge of your agents
Agents in Vector can edit files and run commands on your computer. Review what they do, and keep your work in version control.
No warranty
Vector is beta software, provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any damages or data loss from using it.
Changes
We may update this page as Vector changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
